What is SEO?

Table of Contents

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is a marketing discipline aimed at improving a website’s visibility in the organic results of various search engines. As we can see, SEO focuses on organic search results, that is, those that are not paid for. SEO encompasses both technical and creative elements that improve ranking, drive traffic, and increase awareness of our website in search engines.

Do I need to do SEO?

SEO originated with the question of how to reach top positions in search engines, a concept that emerged in the 1990s with the internet boom, when people realized they could monetize websites and began using search engines to attract traffic. It’s worth remembering that Google was founded in 1996.

Today, search engines remain the best way to attract traffic to our website.

On-Page and Off-Page SEO?

SEO encompasses many aspects, from the words we use on our website and their optimization—it’s not the same to use an important keyword for attracting clients, such as “dental treatments,” in a title as it is within the text—to everything we can do on our website to achieve better results in search engines (On-Page SEO).

The way other websites and social media link to us to gain authority is Off-Page SEO. Authority refers to the fact that the more links we receive from other sites, the more credibility and popularity we gain.

What is technical SEO?

Technical SEO is part of on-page SEO. It’s how we configure our website to be easily understood by search engines, as well as providing a good user experience.

What is the basis of an SEO strategy?

SEO isn’t just about building a search engine-friendly website. It’s also about building a better website for people. Search engines try to understand what each page is about and provide a helpful answer to the user. An optimal strategy is to create a website with your ideal customer in mind.

Google’s goal is to offer the best results to users, and now SEO pursues what Matt Cutts (director of Google’s anti-spam department) calls “Search Experience Optimization,” or in other words, everything for the user.
