With more powerful browsers allowing new forms of animation, GIFs — limited to 256 colors — seemed doomed to disappear. But as true internet veterans with years of experience, they reinvented themselves as endless animated loops and understood the key to social media success: making everyday life more fun and sharing it with others.
Accompanied by the word WHEN…, they show reactions to countless everyday situations.
WHEN you make a sale / get a new client / get a girlfriend — you choose!
However, something was missing: HOW DO WE SHARE THEM? We always had to leave our social network to view a GIF. So here are the two promised secrets:
1. Google+ allows animated GIFs on its feed.
2. Since May, Facebook allows GIFs to be published without appearing static
(Although they must be posted from an external web address — we’ll explain how at the end of the post 😉)
5 Simple Steps to Create an Animated GIF in Photoshop
1. Select or create the images for the animation (your frames).
2. Add the images you’ll use to create the GIF.
Each image should be placed on a separate layer.
3. Choose the “Motion” workspace and click on “Create Frame Animation.”
4. Create the animation frames.
Within each frame, turn layers on or off depending on what you want to display.
5. Set the options:
Choose the timing (how long each frame lasts) and whether the animation loops or not.
6. In “Save for Web,” select GIF as the format.
And now your animated GIF is ready!
How to Post It on Facebook
It’s very simple: right-click on the GIF, select “Copy URL,” and paste that link directly into your Facebook post. Facebook will automatically recognize it as a GIF.
Unleash your creativity and use GIFs to bring your brand image to life!
